As a crucial post-processing equipment in pharmaceutical and health food production, the installation quality of soft capsule dryers directly affects operational stability, drying uniformity, and product quality assurance.Due to the numerous technical requirements involved, including hot air circulation, precise temperature and humidity control, and cleanroom protection, the installation process must adhere to scientific procedures and standardized specifications to ensure long-term, reliable, and efficient operation after installation.

Preparation of the site and environment is essential before installation. The installation location should be rationally planned based on the equipment's dimensions and operation and maintenance space requirements, ensuring sufficient ventilation, maintenance, and material handling passageways. The ground should be flat and firm, capable of withstanding the static and vibration loads of the equipment under full load; reinforcement or the installation of vibration-damping pads should be carried out as necessary. For hot air circulation dryers, the plant's power supply capacity, voltage stability, and grounding reliability should be checked, and the routing and interfaces of exhaust and makeup air ducts should be ensured to meet design requirements. For cleanroom installations, the air purification and differential pressure control systems must be pre-tested to meet the cleanliness and microbial limits required by GMP and other relevant standards.

Equipment placement and initial adjustment are the core aspects of the installation process. According to the installation drawings, the main unit, transmission system, fan, heating unit, and control system should be hoisted or transported to the designated positions in sections, avoiding collisions and tilting. After positioning, the levelness and verticality should be initially corrected. Use a level or laser positioning instrument to ensure that key components (such as the drum shaft, track support, and drying tray plane) are within the design tolerance range to prevent uneven loading, vibration, or uneven material distribution during operation. Then connect the mechanical interfaces and electrical wiring of each functional unit, ensuring that cable routing avoids high-temperature and humid areas and is properly waterproofed, dustproofed, and labeled.

System commissioning and functional verification are conducted in the later stages of installation. First, start the fan and heating system without feeding material, checking whether the air volume, air pressure, and temperature rise curves meet the process settings, and confirming that the temperature control accuracy and humidity regulation functions of each temperature zone are normal. For drum-type or track-type models, a no-load test run should be performed to observe whether the rotation or transmission is smooth and without abnormal noise, and whether the limit and emergency stop devices operate reliably. For models equipped with automatic feeding/discharging and cooling sections, it is necessary to check the smoothness and synchronization of each section to prevent capsule breakage or retention during transfer. After completing the no-load test, a small-batch trial run with material can be conducted to verify drying uniformity, anti-sticking effect, and the accuracy of online monitoring data.

Safety and cleanliness acceptance are essential steps after installation. All protective covers, insulation layers, and electrical safety interlocks should be checked to ensure they are properly installed and functioning correctly, ensuring the equipment can be shut down promptly in case of abnormalities. Cleanroom-type equipment requires adherence to cleaning procedures to verify the accessibility and effectiveness of Clean in Place (CIP) or Sterilization in Place (SIP), and a re-inspection of the materials and surface finish of critical components. All records generated during installation, including level calibration data, electrical test reports, and no-load and material-load trial run parameters, should be compiled and archived as a basis for equipment verification and subsequent maintenance.

After installation, a final acceptance test should be conducted jointly by the supplier's engineers and the user's technical personnel to confirm that all performance indicators of the equipment meet the requirements of the contract and technical documents. On-site training should also be provided to the operators and maintenance personnel to familiarize them with the installation structure, commissioning methods, and daily inspection points.

In summary, the installation of a soft capsule dryer is a systematic task integrating site preparation, precise positioning, system commissioning, and safe and clean acceptance. Only by strictly adhering to standardized procedures and paying attention to details can a solid foundation be laid for the long-term stable operation and high-quality output of the equipment, providing reliable post-processing guarantees for pharmaceutical and health food production.
